Canadian Gaming News: AbsoluteBet Latest To Join the Party in Ontario
With the announcement that AbsoluteBet Corp. has obtained an Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) license to begin operations, the Ontario igaming market continues to develop.
Now at 50, Ontario Licensed Operators
AbsoluteBet was granted a license on August 27 and is currently working through the next step before going live: signing an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario, which oversees the business relationship with operators, as reported in Gaming America and verified after looking at the AGCO's license search platform.
There are already 87 gambling websites in the province, and a cursory look at iGaming Ontario's list of active operators reveals that number is still around 50.
Even though the market is aging, the addition of Ontario-based AbsoluteBet indicates that the Ontario market is still growing.
According to its website, AbsoluteBet manages licensed online casinos with a "special focus on Ontario."
Evoplay Joins Caesars
With the announcement of a collaboration with Caesars Entertainment in Ontario, Evoplay took another step toward growing its footprint in Canada.
The company announced a similar content agreement with Rivalry earlier in August, and it formally entered the regulated Ontario igaming market in March.
Twenty of its well-known games, such as Hot Triple Sevens, Triple Chili, and The Greatest Catch Bonus Play, have been added to Caesars Palace Online Casino in Ontario as a result of the new collaboration with Caesars. Additionally, players in Ontario can play Ice Mania, Fruit Nova, Hot Volcano, and Inner Fire Bonus Buy.
